Design assistant while employed by Architects Four Ltd., Moncton NB
The farmers' market has a long history in downtown Moncton, New Brunswick, dating back over 125 years. The current location incorporates new construction with an adjacent vacant grocery store: a food court and vendor spaces was added to the existing building, and new enclosed shelters were built to house additional vendors. Roxanne Button was an intern architect at Architects Four Ltd. and assisted the project designers with site planning, space planning and details.

Design of the new Elmwood Avenue home for Blue Sky Design Supply, Buffalo NY.
Relocating from its original spot in the Cobblestone District to the Elmwood Village was a big move for Blue Sky Design Supply. The new space is more than twice the size of the original store. It is located on a busy street in a popular neighbourhood, and has a lot more space for classes and product demonstrations. The space serves as both a retail store and a working laboratory for Blue Sky's products: the walls feature Milk Paint and American Clay, and will evolve over time with new colours and layers to show the design possibilities of natural products.
The buildout of the new space took longer than originally planned. The narrow wood plank floors in particular took a lot of patience and elbow grease to remove layers of grime and broken VCT. But the results were well worth the wait.

Design assistant while employed at Susan Troup Design Inc., Halifax NS, Canada..
The original retail location for established Halifax catering company Bonne Cuisine was in the lower level of Spring Garden Place. It was developed as a market concept and featured the wonderful creations of founder Margaret Carson.
Another location opened in the IGA supermarket on Quinpool Road. It was part of a rebranding project by the design firm for the grocery chain to introduce in-store specialty boutiques. Roxanne Button worked on the designs for both locations.
Bonne Cuisine's Market is still located at Spring Garden Place.
