The Buffalo Bisons wanted to upgrade one of their existing suites to attract more corporate clients and expand their season, with the idea of "bringing the boardroom to the ballpark". Architectural Resources was retained to expand and completely redesign the First Base Suite on a very tight timeline.
Working closely with the client and the contractor, SLR Contracting, Roxanne Button led the design team in open up a dark, low-ceilinged space with outdated finishes and furniture: several rows of seating were removed, a new fully-glazed wall was installed, and the dropped ceiling was removed. With a new wide-open view onto the field, the 12'-high suite now attracts businesses and groups with its large meeting table, private bar and washroom. The space is equipped with multiple large TV's for video conferencing or watching out-of-town games.

Located on the edge of the Halifax waterfront, this hotel bar and restaurant take advantage of the great views across Halifax Harbour. Light fixtures were custom-designed for the dining room. Interior finish materials included natural maple floors and custom-designed details accented with walnut, such as the hostess station with a woven wood front.
A blue and green glass sculpture - with glimpses of the harbour behind - draws people down the double-height hallway from the hotel lobby. Back-lit coloured glass highlights the back bar and the banquette in the main dining room. Siding wood and frosted glass panels separate a portion of the dining room for private parties.

Chill Buffalo opened in January 2014 in a space that was formerly an ice cream parlour complete with checkerboard floors. The new design of the interior took a more contemporary approach. Based upon the blue and white logo created by The Telesco Group, the new colour scheme is accented by raspberry in the applied graphics and on a soffit above the serving stations and checkout counter. The furniture was selected for its cleanability and simple design.
